About the Skill
The 3D Digital Game Artists possess keen observation abilities, a passion for aesthetics, and a daring creative spirit. The Competition could lead junior Competitors to create themed characters or objects using digital software, experiencing the workflow of game design and becoming familiar with industry processes such as Concept Art, 3D Modeling, PBR Texturing, Real-time Rendering, and Workflow Management. Competitors need to transform 2D original designs into 3D models with coloring, according to the Test Project requirements, and demonstrate them in real-time simulations within the software, showcasing the fundamental skills and knowledge required by 3D Digital Game Artists.
How to Compete
Age limit of Competitors: 14~16
Competition time:
4 hours for National Skills Competition
8~9 hours (over 2 days) for WorldSkills Competition
Directions of the Test Project:
Computer-generated (or hand-drawn) concept art, asset list planning, 3D modeling, texturing, and game engine presentation
